A mutilated corpse of a woman suspected to have been murdered for ritual purposes has been recovered by operatives of the Bayelsa police command as vital organs such as eyes, nose, ears and tongue were missing.
The yet-to-be-identified female corpse was found at School to Land Project, Edepie, Yenagoa on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at about 08:30 am.
Spokesperson of the command, Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident said the woman’s vitals organs are missing.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that vital organs such as eyes, ears, nose and tongue were removed allegedly for rituals purpose”
The corpse has been removed and deposited at the Federal Medical Centre’s mortuary for autopsy.
“The Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Command, CP Mike Okoli, has ordered detectives to fish out the culprits. And the investigation is ongoing.” he added.
