In the scenario of increasing insecurity and uncertainty in Nigeria, the Senate on Tuesday confirmed the Service Chiefs nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari for the various units of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The confirmed service chiefs include Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General Leo Irabor; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice-Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao; Chief of Army Staff General Ibrahim Attahiru; and Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan on the confirmation of the service chiefs enjoined them to take insurgency war to the terrorists and bandits to ensure they are dislodged from their enclaves. Lawan told them Nigerians expect much from them.
