Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has announced that a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Bello made the announcement on Wednesday, February10, 2021, after he revalidated his APC membership in his country home in Kogi state.

He said: “Our brother and friend, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has joined our party in good faith. He is joining our party to come and add his own positive energy and make contributions to ensuring that APC is a party to beat.

“Remember, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode is a foundation member of the All Progressives Congress.”

There have been strong indications that Fani-Kayode will return to the ruling APC, six years after he left for the PDP.

Last Sunday, Fani-Kayode held a secret meeting with the APC Caretaker, Governor Mai Mala Buni, and Governor Bello, at the Guest House in Abuja.

Sources at the the closed-door meeting, which lasted for about an hour, said the three leaders may have concluded plans for the return of the former Minister to APC.

However, KanyiDaily recalls that last year, Fani-Kayode said he would rather die than return to APC which he described as Almajiri Peoples Congress.
