Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has provided the latest injury update on midfielder, Thomas Partey, ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Leeds United on February 14.

Partey sustained an injury during Arsenal’s Premier League away 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon at Villa Park.

The Ghanaian international was replaced by Willian after 74 minutes during the encounter.

Providing an update on Partey, Arteta confirmed at his post-match press conference that the player suffered a muscle injury.

“He [Thomas Partey] had a muscular issue,” Arteta said.

“We had to take him off and he could not continue playing.”

Partey, who has missed nine matches with a thigh strain between December and early-January, will now hope to recover on time to feature for Arsenal when they host Leeds United next weekend.
