President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the death Gambo Jimeta.
The former Inspector General of Police passed away Thursday evening.
In a statement by presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, Buhari conveyed the condolences of his family, the government and people of Nigeria.
The President described Jimeta as a man of great courage, intellect and a true statesman.
“Nigeria lost a great son. He lived for the nation and served with all his strength”, he said.
Buhari prayed that Allah blesses Jimeta’s soul and give fortitude to the bereaved family, the government and the people of Adamawa State.
