The Coalition of orphanages and children’s home in Nigeria (COCHIN) has banned visitors from taking photos when they visit orphanage home in the country.
In a newsletter sent to orphanage homes across the country, COCHIN lamented that photos taken and shared online by visiting donors usually cause “embarrassment and stigmatisation of the children”.
COCHIN therefore warned that photograph will henceforth not be tolerated in order to protect the children and any orphanage that allows visitors take photos will be fined N50,000.
