A high-ranking traditional ruler in Ondo State Oba Adewusi Isreal, The Olufon of Ifon has died.
Oba Adewusi reportedly went to Akure for a meeting and on his way back to his hometown, he was attacked.
The King was shot at Elegbeka community along the Ifon-Benin highway.
He was reportedly rushed to Federal Medical Center Owo but sadly, he gave up the ghost.
The bandits kidnapped two people in the king’s convoy and no contact has been made yet.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Tee Leo-Ikoro while confirming the incident to press described it as sad and very unfortunate.
The Ondo State Commissioner of Police Bolaji Salami has directed all police divisions in the area to swing into action and to work with other security agencies to apprehend the bandits and secure the release of the victims.
If a King could be murdered this way, what’s the hope of the common man?
We hope the governor of Ondo state will see to it that the perpetrators of this abominable act are found, arrested and brought to justice.
May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.
