The Nigeria Correction Service in Ikoyi, Lagos, is currently under attack by suspected hoodlums.

Facilities at the prisons are being torched as the hoodlums attempt to break into prison cells.

“The prisons is on fire, everyone running for safety now,” a source in the area, who confirmed the attack said.

Recall in the heat of the EndSARS protest which was hijacked by hoodlums in Edo state, the federal maximum security prison at Oko in Benin City was broken into and many prisoners escaped.

This latest attack is coming on the heels of the 24 hours curfew currently going on in Lagos state.

As at time of report, prison officials and inmates could be seen scampering for safety.
