#EndSARS protesters take agitation to Police headquarters, Abuja

The angry youths engaged in #EndSARS protest in Nigeria, on Thursday, took their agitation to the Headquarters of the Nigeria Police, Abuja, to press home their demands.

The protesters are seeking an end to brutality and extra-judicial killings by Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) personnel across the country.

Human Rights activists, Deji Adeyanju and Aisha Yesufu, including publisher of Sahara Reporters Omoyele Sowore, led the protesting group in Abuja.

The protest also took place in several other states in the country which include Lagos, Edo, Kwara, and Imo.

The protesters gathered at the Shehu Shagari Way, chanting ‘EndSARS NOW’. Their activities were said to have obstructed the flow of traffic.

Several celebrities joined the protesters in Lagos. The celebrities were identified to include Folarin Falana, known as Falz; a pop stars,  Runtown; Tiwa Savage, Paul of Psquare, Jaywon, Dremo, This is Wurld and popular Dj Spinall.

The Coalition of Youth Groups, Civil Society of Nigeria, and National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and others led the youths for the protest in Edo State. Staging a peaceful protest, they demanded an end to police brutality and extra-judicial killings by the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. It was gathered that from Ring Road, Benin City, the protesters moved to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat, from there to the Edo State Police Command Headquarters displaying placards.
