Buhari Receives President of Burkina Faso, Vows To Support West African Sustainability Democracy
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday received the audience of the President of Burkina Faso Roch Marc Christian Kabore even as he vowed to help countries in the West African Region sustain democracy.
In a statement by the the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, he disclosed that Buhari made the commitment during get the one day official of President Kabore, at the State House, Abuja.
Buhari said, “We are keeping tabs on situations in countries that have elections ahead. We know the countries that are calm and the ones where there have been unfortunate casualties. We will always support those who have elections ahead so that things can go smoothly”.
In his remarks Kabore commended President Buhari for what his strong leadership and support displayed in his capacity as Chairman of COVID-19 response in West Africa.
He said, “I must also applaud your strong leadership against terrorism in the sub-region”.
Speaking on the political crisis in Mali he expressed hope that the summit held in Accra, Ghana, on Tuesday, would yield positive results, stressing, We need cohesion all over West Africa.
