Nollywood actress, Gbemi Anthonia Adefuye, popular known as Toni Tones, has opined that the culture of “bride price” which is predominant in marriages, should be scrapped.

Giving her reason on a Twitter post, the actress said women are not properties, and are not meant to be sold.

“Scrap bride price culture. Women are not property to be and sold.”

KanyiDaily had reported how two siblings kidnapped their 88-year-old father in order to raise money for ‘marriage bride price’ in Imo State.
