Gov. Ganduje Attends 6th Annual Prayer For Late Kano Emir, Ado Bayero

    –Emir Aminu Ado Bayero commends Gov for lifting suspension on Friday Prayers

This year’s Annual Prayer, the 6th in its series, of the late Kano Emir, Ado Bayero, was attended by the governor of Kano state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, that took place at Kano Central Mosque, at the Emir’s palace, Friday.

Prayers were offered to the reposed soul of the late Bayero, under the leadership of the current Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero. While in attendance were the Chief Imam of Kano, Emeritus Professor Muhammad Sani Zahraddeen and other Islamic scholars, who offered special prayers for the late Emir.

“We pray for Allah’s continued Blessing and Mercy to the reposed soul of our late Emir, our father, Alhaji Ado Bayero. May Allah give us all the strength to continue following his footsteps. He was a good and exemplary leader,” he said.

He thanked Emir Bayero for organising prayers against COVID-19 pandemic in his Emirate, appreciating that, “Your Highness we are aware that you organised series of prayers since before we got the first index case of the COVID-19 in the state.

And we know that you are not relenting up to this time around. We are really appreciating such efforts. We also appreciate our Ulama for their prayers and all other people who showed concern and prayed for the state and the country in general.”

Governor Ganduje urged people to continue praying to Allah for further protection against all forms of crimes and criminalities.

In his remarks Emir Bayero thanked the governor for lifting the suspension on Friday prayers during the last Friday of the Month of Ramadhan Fasting, adding that, “Since from that time, we have been witnessing how this global pandemic of COVID-19 is subsiding in the state.”

He commended scholars in their efforts during the hey days of the pandemic in the state and beyond. Explaining that, their continued prayers and observance of COVID-19 protocols as given by health professionals, is commendable as well.

“Your Excellency we are very grateful and appreciative of the efforts you have been putting in responding to this pandemic. What the state government is doing is highly commendable.

So also what the state is doing in cushioning the effects of the lockdown, through distribution of palliatives, in the state, is indeed commendable. As being experienced world over,” said Emir Bayero.
