Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas has picked Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho as the two best managers he has ever worked under snubbing compatriot Pep Guardiola.

Fabregas, 32, has had the privilege of learning from some of the best coaches in his career.

And when asked on Instagram Live to name his two favourites he has played for, he answered: “I had the best in the world, so I cannot complain.”

But when pressed on the top two he added: “Wenger and Mourinho.”

Wenger was Fabregas’ first mentor in senior football, helping him break into the first team at Arsenal.

Under the French coach he won an FA Cup in 2005 and finished a runner-up in the Champions League the following season.

Fabregas then moved on to Barcelona in 2011 where he played under Guardiola in just one season.

Fabregas was then signed by Mourinho at Chelsea in 2014 and helped the side win the Premier League in his first season at the club before Mourinho left the club in December 2015.

Fabregas had made 18 Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco this season before it was suspended, creating three assists.

He recently spoke out about leaving Arsenal, claiming the majority of his teammates simply did not care as much as he did about the club’s fortunes.

“Sometimes, I used to go home after we lost and I used to cry, I used to suffer, I used to spend sleepless nights suffering,” he recalled.

“And then you lose a game, you’re in the bus like this destroyed and then you hear some players laughing, thinking about where they will be going out later. This was going on for a few years.”
