Habila Hosea Mutla, General Manager of Plateau United, has exclusively told Completesports.com that the club will overcome its current struggles in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

“Life is all about challenges. It always has its curves and turns,” Mutla said.

“The important thing is your ability to learn and rise above them. For us at Plateau United, I know we’ll come good in the end.

“It’s not just about overcoming struggles—we are determined to finish among the top teams at the end of the season.”

Plateau United currently sit 16th on the NPFL table with 24 points after 22 rounds of matches.

The club’s management believes this position does not reflect its status, and Mutla admitted that significant efforts have been made to improve results.

“Yes, we’ve strengthened the squad with some fresh legs during the January transfer window,” he said.

“And it’s our hope that the new arrivals will bring the much-needed spark to the team.”

Completesports.com checks confirm that Ekene Olisema Nero (Sporting Lagos), Mojereola Sulaimon (El-Kanemi Warriors), Abdulmutallif Sanusi (Katsina United), and Dabo Joshua (Yobe Desert Stars) all joined Plateau United in the mid-season transfer window.

In addition, the club issued a three-match ultimatum to Technical Adviser Mbwas Mangut and his coaching staff.

Mutla clarified: “The decision is not punitive, nor is it a witch-hunt. It is aimed at improving our team’s performance in line with our season’s objectives and justifying the state government’s investment in the team.

“It’s not about sacking anyone—far from it. We all want the best, and together, we will do everything necessary to achieve success for the club, the government, and the people of Plateau State.”

Mangut’s future at the club will be decided based on the outcome of Plateau United’s next three fixtures: an away clash against Niger Tornadoes this weekend, a home game against high-flying El-Kanemi Warriors, and a tough trip to face in-form Ikorodu City.
