Ifeoma Onumonu made history as she became the first Super Falcons player to score against France.
On Saturday the Falcons faced France in an international friendly game which ended 2-1 in favour of the European team.
It was the fourth time both countries will play against each other with the French winning all the four meetings.
Prior to Saturday’s game, the Falcons had failed to score in the previous clashes.
Both teams first encounter was in the group stage of the 2011 FIFA women’s World Cup which France won 1-0.
In 2018 the French hosted the Falcons in an international friendly which ended 8-0.
Then in the 2019 FIFA women’s World Cup, host France pipped the Falcons 1-0 in a group stage fixture.
Saturday’s game looked to be heading in the same direction after Eugenie Le Sommer and Amel Majri scored in the first half.
But in the third minute of stoppage time the Falcons equalised thanks to Onumonu who finished off a counter attack in the third minute of stoppage time.
