Maduka Okoye is targeting a return to the Super Eagles after missing out on a place to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Okoye endured a torrid spell at Sky Bet Championship, Watford last season with injury limiting his appearance for the Hornets.

The shot stopper secured a permanent move to Serie A club Udinese last summer in a bid to revive his career.

” The national team is an important thing for me and I want to return as soon as possible. It was bad watching the Africa Cup of Nations from home, but this is football . ”

Okoye has made 16 appearances for the Super Eagles.
