Gambia’s goalkeeper, Pa Ebou Dampha, was named Man of the Match after helping his side beat the Flying Eagles of Nigeria 1-0 in the semi-finals of the 2023 U-20 AFCON in Egypt on Monday.
Dampha was instrumental for Gambia who qualified for a first-ever U-20 AFCON final thanks to an early goal by Adama Bojang.
The shot stopper made key saves to maintain Gambia’s lead which eventually was enough to secure the final ticket.
And following his impressive performance for his side, Dampha was voted the best player on CAF’s U-20 AFCON Twitter handle.
