Dennis gave Watford the lead in the 24th minute when he rose highest to head home a corner.

Brentford equalised with six minutes left thanks to Pontus Jansson who met a flicked on header at the back post.

And in the 95th minute Bryan Mbeumo converted from the penalty spot to give Brentford the dramatic win.

The defeat saw Watford now in 17th place on 13 points just three points above the drop zone.

For Brentford, they climb up to ninth place on 20 points.

And in the French Ligue 1, Moses Simon was the hero as his late goal sealed a 3-2 comeback win for Nantes against Lens.

It was Simon’s second goal in the French top flight this campaign.

Simon, who came on in the 70th minute, scored in the 90th minute to complete the dramatic comeback.

Lens had gone 2-0 ahead through David Costa (7th minute) and Arnaud Kalimuendo-Muinga (15th minute).

But a brace from Randal Kolo Muani on 49th and 57th minutes, drew Nantes level.

Nantes move up to 10th position on 25 points in the league standing courtesy of the win.
