Dennis Fourth Nigerian Player To Score On Premier League Debut

Emmanuel Dennis joined the exclusive list of Nigerian players who scored on their maiden appearance in the English Premier League after netting in Watford’s 3-2 home win against Aston Villa on Saturday, reports Completesports.com.

Dennis joined his international teammates Oghenekaro Etebo and William Troost-Ekong in making their Premier League debut for the Hornets at the Vicarage Road.

The 23-year-old got on the score sheet in the 10th minute slotting home after his initial shot was blocked.

The winger then turned provider as he set up Senegal forward Ismaila Sarr on 42 minutes to double Watford’s lead.

The former Club Brugge striker was later replaced by Juan Hernandez in the 66th minute.

His goal puts him alongside John Utaka, Peter Odemwingie and Odion Ighalo as Nigerian players who scored on their maiden outing in the Premier League.
