Ex-Chelsea Star Kalou Bags University Degree In Business Administration

Former Chelsea and Cote d’Ivoire forward Salomon Kalou on Saturday received his University degree in Business administration. 

The 35-year-old was awarded the degree in Lyon, France after completing the three-year studies.

Kalou recently joined Brazilian topflight club Botafogo on 9th July 2020 from Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin where he spent six seasons.

Born in Oumé, Cote d’Ivoire, Kalou like his older brother Bonaventure, began his career in local club Mimosas before moving to Europe.

Kalou signed for Feyenoord in 2003 and in 2004, he was loaned to Feyenoord’s “satellite club”, Excelsior.

He then returned to Feyenoord and played in the Dutch top flight Eredivisie for two seasons from 2004 to 2006. 

During his time with the Rotterdam-based club, he scored 35 goals in 67 league appearances, also winning the Johan Cruijff Award in 2005 as the most promising young talent of the season.

On 30th May 2006 Kalou moved to Chelsea for an undisclosed fee, believed to be approximately £9 million.

At Chelsea he won the Premier League, FA Cup, Community Shield and UEFA Champions League.

He made his international debut for Cote d’Ivoire in 2007 and has scored 28 goals in 97 appearances.

In 2015 he helped Cote d’Ivoire win the Africa Cup of Nations which is their second.
