FIFA, CAF, NFF Send Birthday Wishes To Ex-Eagles Stars Enyeama, Babayaro

FIFA, CAF and NFF on Saturday sent birthday wishes to former Super Eagles stars Vincent Enyeama and Celestine Babayaro who turned 38 and 42 respectively, Completesports.com reports.

The three football bodies sent their birthday wishes via their verified Twitter handles.

CAF hailed Enyeama for his achievements as a two-time Champions League (with Enyimba) and AFCON winner.

While the NFF thanked Enyeama for the unforgettable moments during his time with the Eagles.

“Happy birthday to former @NGSuperEagles captain, @vinpee. Thank you for the memories and enjoy your day!”

For Babayaro, FIFA said: “Celestine Babayaro celebrated in some style when he scored the goal that helped the @NGSuperEagles upset @Argentina & win gold at the 1996 @Olympics.

“We hope the iconic left-wingback celebrates his 42nd birthday in similar style!”

CAF wrote:”Happy Birthday to Celestine Babayaro!”

“The former Nigerian international celebrates his 42nd birthday.”

And according to the NFF: “Big birthday shout-out to former @NGSuperEagles defender, Celestine Babayaro. Have a good one Cele!”

Enyeama featured for Nigeria at three FIFA World Cups in 2002, 2010 and 2014 and was also in goal at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.

Aside Enyimba, Enyeama kept goal for Ibom Stars, Iwuanyanwu Nationale  (Heartland), Bnei Yehuda, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Lille.

Babayaro helped Nigeria win the 1993 U-17 World Cup in Japan and was a key member of the Dream Team that won gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

He represented Nigeria at two AFCONs (2000 and 2002) and also at two FIFA World Cups (1998 and 2002).

At club level, he featured for Anderlecht, Chelsea and Newcastle United.

And during his time at Chelsea he won the FA Cup, European Cup Winners’ Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
