Newly promoted Leeds United have been officially crowned winners of the 2019/2020 English Championship, beating Semi Ajayi’s West Bromwich Albion to the title, Completesports.com reports.
Brentford’s defeat to Stoke means Leeds, who were promoted back to the Premier League on Friday and currently on 87 points cannot be caught at the top.
The result between Stoke and Brentford favours West Brom who lost 2-1 at Huddersfield Town on Friday, as they remain second on 82 points, a point ahead of Brentford heading into the final fixtures on Wednesday.
West Brom will host Queens Park Rangers at the Hawthorns in a must win game and Brentford will welcome bottom side Barnsley.
Meanwhile, Stoke are now mathematically safe for another season and move up to 17th, eight points clear of the drop zone before the rest of Saturday’s matches are played.
