There are four crucial games remaining for the Nigerian duo of central defenders, Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem and their CD Leganes teamates, even as manager, Javier Aguirre believes the club can survive relegation, Completesports.com reports.

Leganes face home side Eibar today (Thursday) before hosting Valencia this Sunday. They will then play their last away game of the season at Athletic Club on Wednesday, July 15, and round off the 2019/20 Laliga campaign with a home game against Real Madrid on Sunday, July 19.

Aguirre spoke to the media on Wednesday in the prematch press conference which held at I.D Butarque ahead of the 35th matchday that will be played against S.D Eibar at Municipal de Ipurua.

The manager confirmed that only Oscar and Carrillo will not be part of the squad list for the next match, meaning Omeruo is back from injury and is convinced about his team’s chances.

Aguirre believes that Leganes still has chances of reaching survival and that they will continue fighting for it: “We still have chances and have to fight while they exist.

“We must play a good match, Eibar is a strong team when paying at home, they have played several years with the same manager and with a playing style they know. We must be organized and take the chances we may have,” he said.

The Mexican tactician affirms that Leganes have never stopped believing in the survival.

He added: “We haven’t stopped believing at any time, we are still alive despite of our limitations. There are four remainingfinals and we believe in the survival.”

While Awaziem has made 20 starts in 24 league games with four clean-sheets to show for his effort, Omeruo has started 21 of his 23 league games with a goal and five yellow cards to his name.

Leganes have now won just once in their last seven games since football returned in Spain. The Cucumber Growers are still in the drop zone, though, staring relegation in the face.
