Former Germany midfielder Sidney Sam regrets snubbing Nigeria for the Europeans, reports Completesports.com.
Sam, who was born to Nigerian father and German mother was capped five times by Germany.
The 32-year-old was named in Germany’s 30-man provisional squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup by Joachim Low but was omitted from the final squad.

“Looking back, I can say I was close to winning the World Cup with Germany. Maybe I would have played in it if I had accepted the chance offered by Nigeria,”Sam told Brila FM.
” My regret, yes it is, but in life when you make a decision you live with the consequences.
Sam currently plays for Austrian Bundesliga club SCR Altach.
