Onyekuru Slams Turkish Referees For Bias Officiating

Henry Onyekuru wants an improvement in the quality of officiating in the Turkish Super Lig following Galatasaray’s 3-3 home draw against Gaziantep on Sunday, reports Completesports.com.

The draw put a dent on Fathi Terim’s men title bid with the champions, who occupy fourth position in the table now eight points hehind leaders Istanbul Basaksehir with six games remaining before the end of the campaign.

Onyekuru, who was booked in stoppage time was unhappy with unhappy with the officiating during the match.

The Nigeria international feeels that the referees were against his team.

“Let no one perceive this as an excuse, but let’s look back at the game we played last week; the same way this week,” Onyekuru told the club’s official website.

“We can never touch our opponent. When we touch them, fouls are blown against us, and meaningless cards were shown.

“It really shocked us and we were surprised by the referee’s decisions. We did everything we could, we went 3-1 ahead.

“We were running and fighting from the beginning to the end of the match but we could only do that to the extent the referee allows us.

“We are Galatasaray. Galatasaray fight until the last minute carries this spirit and reflects on the field.

“I hope, these will not happen in the match we will play next week, but it was the same this past week. I hope we won’t experience them next week.”

The league Champions will face Istanbul Basaksehir in a crunch clash on Sunday.

Onyekuru, who joined Galatasaray on loan from French club Monaco in January has made nine appearances in the Super Lig and scored once.
