36 Lion ended Akwa Starlets four-game unbeaten run in the Nigeria National League Matchday 5 encounter after claiming a slim 2-1 victory at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium recently.

An eventful 45 minute of the exchange saw both teams claim possession of the ball with good passing skills as they entertained the fans, but it was the visitors that made a statement with the only goal in the first half.

Akwa Starlets surged on attacking display as they mount the pressure on Lions and their effort paid off at 4th minute of the exchange with Isaac George open scoring for the visitors.

Lions went forward on several occasions with arrays of attacking display in search of goals in the second half,  but Akwa Starlets defenders were on their toes dealing with all the attacks from us.

At 71st minute of the game,  36 Lion restored parity,  as Adebayo Ogunniyi put the ball beyond an onrushing Starlets goalkeeper.

After the equaliser, 36 Lion took absolute control of the game,  and were able to crack the visitors defence open.

With less than four minutes to wrap up the encounter, Akinyola Samson surfaced from the middle park with an unexpected screamer to give lions a hard-earned victory over Akwa Starlets at 87th minute.
