The Football Association has fined Chelsea and Leicester £22,500 ($31,872) for an ugly brawl that occurred at the end of their fiery Premier League match.

The Blues defeated Leicester 2-1 in a match that helped them finish above Leicester in the Premier League’s top four.

Tensions were high because Chelsea players were enraged by Leicester’s raucous celebrations following their FA Cup final triumph two days before.

In the Wembley dressing room party, Leicester’s Daniel Amartey was seen stamping on a Chelsea pennant.

Emotions reached boiling point near the end of the Premier League match on May 18 at Stamford Bridge.

A clash between players and staff from both sides erupted after a tackle by Foxes full-back Ricardo Pereira on Ben Chilwell. Last month, the clubs were charged with breaking FA rules.

“Chelsea FC and Leicester City FC have been fined £22,500 each after admitting a breach of FA Rule E20.1 following their Premier League fixture on Tuesday 18 May 2021,” an FA spokesperson said

“Both clubs admitted that they failed to ensure their players and club officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and refrained from provocative behaviour during the 93rd minute of the fixture.”

Chelsea finished in fourth place, one point ahead of Leicester, denying the Foxes a place in the Champions League next season.

The Blues went on to win the Champions League this season, defeating Manchester City 1-0 in the final on Saturday in Porto.
