The names of the three students killed by alleged bandits at Greenfield University in Kaduna have been revealed.

Sadiq Yusuf Sanga, Precious Nwakacha, and Dorathy Yohanna were among those who died.

On Tuesday, gunmen stormed the school and kidnapped a number of students.

The number of students kidnapped has yet to be verified by the state government.

The remains of the three students were discovered in Kwanan Bature village, not far from the school, on Friday, and were taken to a mortuary by Lt. Col. MH Abdullahi, Commissioner, Internal Security and Home Affairs, and Force Commander, Operation Thunder Strike.

The bandits had requested N800 million earlier.

Bandit kidnappings are common in Kaduna, one of Nigeria’s most populous states.

The university attack is the third time in 2021 that bandits have targeted a school in Kaduna.
