An officer of the Southwest regional security outfit popularly known as Amotekun was shot dead in Oyo state.
The deceased officer was identified as Suleiman Quadri.
According to report, Mr Quadri was said to have been ambushed by bandits while escorting the staff of a farm to the farmland in Fiditi on Tuesday night, April 20. The bandits were reported to have been around eleven in number.
The gunmen opened fire on the security operative and his colleague known as Amoo Yisau. While Yisau sustained gunshot injuries from the open fire and is being treated at the General Hospital, Owode Oyo, Quadri lost his life.
The commandant of Amotekun Corps, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (rtd), confirmed the incident and said the deceased has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
