Several Nigerians have taken to their social media platform to attack Aliko Dangote, the Chairman of Dangote Industries Limited, following his petition over BUA
Some of the reactions on social media are below
A user said ‘The market has been monopolize for him with the help of the government, and this takes us bk to corruption, we the poor has no options but to accept what is on the table’
Another user with the name Tolbat on Twitter says ‘How much personal income tax does he pay to the https://t.co/gfM2cG68H8 much tax does his companies a d their subsidiaries pay to the government. Even when he imports they grant him waivers and concessions .All at the expense of the government and masses’.
Someone else with the name Ifyugwuokwor says ‘And I intentionally buy any other brand that is available while shopping, we should compete on quality not “who know who”,that is fair play’
Praise Toju says, “My sister, sometimes I have to trek the whole market looking for any salt but Dangote. My little way of protesting against the comprador monopoly’.
Adadioramma says, ‘I am the last person to believe that nonsense. Dangote being the richest in Africa. He is not and can never be, because of his greed. He hates competitions. What makes you a business guru? Is letting your products stands tall among others. But in his terms is either him or no one’
Henry Chuks Uzor says, ‘Dangote is only robbing Nigerians to get richer is Dangote PLC paying taxes to FG, States and LGA that’s what we shd find out the Monopoly of Dangote by Buhari FG is making him richer bec they before 1999 till date are stack holders so nobody goes near’.
Another individual with the name AT says, ‘When he dies, they should remember to park all his wealth both cash and assets inside the white cloth they will use to wrap him, else they use casket for him, cos no one knows how he will end’.
Kitabol says, ‘Nigerians should Boycott all Dangote Brand of cement and other products.
That will likely serve him right,, if he can survive without Nigeria Market’.
Dangote had earlier petitioned the Federal Government, and has asked that the Ministry of Trade shuts down the BUA Group’s Sugar Refinery.
He accused BUA of going against the law by selling its products locally instead of producing for export alone.
