Nigerians mocked the police for manipulating images of suspects and AK-47 rifles allegedly recovered from them.
It was unclear where they were arrested or their specific offence, but the police account of two suspects posted on social media showed an ongoing manipulation of a possibly criminal case.
The man and woman were posted on the Twitter handle of the police Tuesday evening with Ak-47 rifles and ammunition before them. But a cursory examination of the image showed it was poorly edited with the famous Adobe Photoshop.
Nigerians immediately caught the police manipulation and have been yucking it up at those who put the picture together.
Other serious commenters said the image manipulation underscored how the police have been influencing cases to set citizens up for decades.
A police spokesman in Abuja did not immediately return a request seeking comments.
