DESCENDANT OF TRIBALISM
The man you hate and fight
What gives his innocent crime?
That you sight not his prime
But to wish him a prey to die
The man you give no help
What makes your mind so cruel?
That you let him feel like hell
When you are the master of wealth
The man you bath with cynism
What’s his sin from nature?
That makes you dine with cronyism
When you are from no same shore
The man you maim and slay
What’s the cause he made?
That makes you pardon not and lay
Now you killed your likes same clay
the man you rule as a tyrant
It’s you he chose for the crown
Why pay not of his wholly want
When hunger and pain beats him down
The world for you and same for him
That bring your own and his as a team
As you wear one flag as one of a kind
To dug your hope and dreams so high
GIFTED MOTHER
When I was born in my formative era
I knew neither a father nor a mother
And when I grew up and have come of age,
Neither do I know my husband, it’s so strange,
Yet I saw children taking shelter inside me
Claiming to be the biological blood I breed.
Even though they speak not of the same language or hear,
But they have my looks and even the color I wear.
And now, same said children of mine,
Wants me dead when it’s not yet my time
They fight, killing and bombing each other’s entity,
All for the riches I bore from nature for eternity.
But I never stopped crying for peace and unity,
Always calling and saying with my dignity:
“I’m a peaceful and lovely mother with riches
Everything around me came to be from my wishes.
be peaceful and unite to enjoy my motherly shed,
so that my name NIGERIA will neither die nor be divided,
for you are one people with one color ii my shell.
PAINS OF POVERTY
Oh! Poverty, the cry of a wretched heart,
Killing like the dead heads in the desert
The masses are hopelessly crying,
And the children are humbly dying.
Then, what’s the faith of the new born?
As they desire riches to glow like the sun.
25,000 heads gone from this disease a day,
and remnants trapped with nothing to call or lay,
when plenty milk and honey are there for a way,
but not for us as it has come to stay.
gone with our strength for work we seek,
making us sick and sucking us weak,
to give us wounds like an HIV hit.
It has struck the social beauty with stains,
Leaving the mark in every society for pains.
Economy is sobbing for the burden,
As crime is unleashing and robbing.
You and I not save from this invasion,
That makes our land cry as a nation.
Hear our helpless cry America, mother of the earth;
Save our hopes WHO, UN and UNICEF,
To rain on us and save us from this death.
Though you fight the path with your selfless strength,
But until death becomes our hopeless nest,
Our hope lies in you as you try your best
MR. PRESIDENT
MR. President at the State nest
From the north, south, east and west
Sobbing sands are here for your powers
To kill their doom that grows like towers
So peaceful they stand for your word
To give them hope and ways for the world
No harm reads their minds or cry for a war
As they fly their flags for your spur
Spurt no army or berate for a wipe
For the masses seeks your help to ripe
Peace no more, they vow to feel and crown
But from your spot, the first citizen’s ground
The wind is angry from their feeble yell
That makes the storm arise with a pale
Strike the foes of peace with your veto sting
For your praises from the masses as they sing
Native worries dears your noble fame
As you are crowned a leader so noble
Every news finds your worthy artless name
To give you blames when the nation tumbles
Mr. President, the nation’s heir face
The masses cry yells for your duty call
Cease their gloom and peace their days
To dry their pains your breaking wall
these are poetry articles about good Nigeria and her fight for peace and unity.
