The daughters of our land are fair,
Maidens of highly estimable value,
Amongst them a fairer one i seek,
an angel in the gathering of men;
Omotekoro, Princess of our land it is you i greet.
Ovie- Emete the Butterfly of the creeks,
the Water-lily of the Savannah, the Deltan goddess
who sends the groins of her suitors afire:
i have been set ablaze, burnt for one whom i pay homage.
The town-crier strikes the agogo,
The goddess is coming to town!
i beat the agidigbo announcing
the homecoming of my Queen,
My bride comes home!
welcome her my ancestors,
Bid her farewell gods of her land;
For she comes to leave no more.
