I was thrown into dungeon
Not into paradise promised,
The year was 1914.
Honey pot
Buried beneath my earth
Was unearthed,
Uncovered,
The year was 1956.
The year was 1960
When fluffy flag flew,
I stood in salute
And sang the Anthem.
Swashbuckling soldiers
Swaggered onto the stage
With illusions of leadership,
The year was 1966.
1967 came,
Rage reigned,
Regiments railroaded me
To refugee camp.
In 1970,
Rage turned to rumble.
Rumble ceased,
Politicians
Pranced podiums with prattles.
They pounced on my mandate
And lined their pockets with loots,
Rumble returned,
The year was 1983.
Rumble ceased again,
More prancing,
More prattles.
Politicians
Pounced on my mandate again
And lined their pockets again with loots,
They threw me into deeper dungeon,
The year is now.
