I am proud of you mother
Your blackness shines forth
The beauty of your tribe
Aesthetically, you remain unique
Of all mothers. In you lie
The wealth of the nations
In your womb evolves
The genius of the globe
Your blood in my vein runs
The milk of your breast
Nourishes my infancy
And enriches my agility
I am honoured to bear your mark –
For I know the fruit of your womb
Shall one day the entire races govern
No matter how mired your name is
I am your slave, though I be your son
In your captivity shall I be free
And in your bosom shall I excel
