Her Majesty, Natives And Phantoms

The royal hand
Of Her Majesty
In reluctance stretched
To hand garments of leadership
To outstretched hands
Of zealous Natives.
Colours of green and white
Of symbol of sovereignity
Hoisted,
Smiled on Natives.
Phantoms,
Clones of Her Majesty
Lurked,
Waiting for garments.
They appeared,
Some colourful,
Others colourless.
Her Majesty in disregard
Of quest of Natives
Gave garments.
The seed
Of Phantoms leadership
Sown,
Germinated.
When Her Majesty departed,
Khaki Phantoms revolted.
With swagger
And bravado,
Garments of leadership
They snatched,
Khaki leadership ensued.
Natives nursed
Wounds of aberration,
Harassed
By sound of guns,
Bombs.
When Hell ceased fury,
Khaki revolted again,
Her Majesty
Returned for another charade.
Garments
Sat on shelves
With labels of high prices
Awaiting highest bidders.
Phantoms with lucre
Purchased garments,
Another Phantoms revolt.
Natives
On threshold of despair
Now search garment rooms
In hope of retrieving garments.
