Frederick Rotimi Alade Williams is the most senior legal practitioner in Nigeria today. An acclaimed constitutional lawyer, he was the first Minister of Justice and Attorney General in the defunct Western Nigeria and the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 1975.
He was appointed a Queen’s Counsel (QC). He will be 80 years old in December and is still very actively involved in legal practice. He is decorated with several titles including the commander of the order of the Niger (CON), 1965, and Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CFR) 1978. He is the younger brother of the accountant Akintola Williams.
