At 55 years old Cecilia is still seen as the corporate Amazon. Managing Director and chief executive officer, Oceanic International Bank Limited, Mrs. Ibru spent her first years in marriage raising her children and thereafter, delved into banking, among many other concerns she has taken in her giant strides. She has employed her rich skill and experience to attain the rare feat of being amongst the few women calling the shots at the helm of affairs in financial institutions in the country.
Ibru is geared to pushing her bank to new frontiers. She cut her management teeth in the Ibru organisation where she worked for 28 years rising to the position of managing director in 1989. She joined Oceanic Bank as general manager administration in November 1993, was made acting CEO in January 1997 and substantive CEO a year later.
