Post Comment PROSPECT FOR THE FUTURE Nigeria

Ogun State has had a significant level of devel opment from the beginning of the 20th century. The early exposure of the state to western education was an important factor in its development. The state nevertheless still needs to develop further in order to meet the demands of the more competitive 21st century.

This is because the ultimate goal of any planned development is the improvement in the standard of living of the people. Economic growth has to be accompanied by the social wellbeing and the general physical and spiritual upliftment of the common people.

Happily, the state is wellendowed in both material and human resources, the proper utilization of which will continue to make her exemplary in planning and development for the common man. Ogun State has been described as the Gateway State and it should be maintained as such. The state has all the potentials for agricultural and industrial development. The total wellbeing of the people which is the objective of any development effort will be achieved, given proper planning, harnessing of local resources and attention to tech nical details that not only generate, but sustain development.
