Saturday Sun gathered that on that fateful day, little, playful Zainab, daughter of Abdulhamid Dogo, Mai Shayi (not relation of the suspect) was unusually absent from the house till dusk, causing panic in the neighbourhood. It was gathered that when she could not be found, an emergency meeting was summoned and that a search party was organized and there and then, not far from her house, the lifeless body of the little child was discovered in a dustbin. As soon as the discovery was made, an eyewitness account said, Aminu, an alleged notorious pedophile and the alleged arrow head of the crime, since the body of the girl had been discovered, they should just offer prayers for her soul and bury her without any investigation. This was said to have aroused the curiosity of the people present who immediately invited the police to question him.
Sickmen on the prowl
When Aminu, reputed to be the son of a very rich and influential fellow in the area, was taken into captivity, he confessed to men and officers at CB of the Nigeria Police, Bompai Kano that: ' I lured the girl into my house and was preparing to have my bath before tackling her when Shuaibu brought his radio to me to repair; I told him I had a small, beautiful girl in my custody then he said he would wait for me; I went in to take bath but before I could come out Shuaibu had already started with her; when I came I took over but when she was crying, we used some pieces of cloth to close her mouth so that people would not hear her cry; after having her, we discovered that she was dead so we had to wrap her up and dumped her in a dustbin," he told the police, even without much persuasion.
When asked whether they were pushed by some evil forces to commit the act, Aminu said: 'nothing like that, I just loved the way she looked and wanted to make love to her; but before this action, we smoked marijuana (Igbo); you know Igbo can give one instant sexual urge; so no juju, no spirit pushed us, we just loved her," he said to the amazement of the people present.
The police authorities have said after investigation, the matter will be charged to court.
