Car runs into cows, kills 3

It was a colossal loss for some herdsmen in Ilaro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, as three of their cattle were killed in an auto accident which also left two drivers and some passengers seriously injured.

The accident happened some few kilometres to Ilaro, the provincial headquarters of the old Egbado Province.
Eye witness account told Daily Sun that a red Toyota Starlet with number plate OGUN AG 249 AYE ran into the cattle in the early hours of Tuesday last week on its way to Ilaro.

“It is difficult to say whether the driver of the car was on top speed or not, but what I just noticed was that a group of herdsmen in their usual habits were heading for grazing when the driver ran into them.
“Maybe the accident would have been avoided if the driver had sighted the cattle from a distance.

But this was not the case as he could not see further because of the fog. So, it is difficult to apportion blame to anyone, whether the driver of the car or the herdsmen,” a butcher who was among the rescuers volunteered to Daily Sun.

Some of the victims of the accident who were later taken to the Ilaro General Hospital where they were treated expressed gratitude to God for sparing their lives. “I have every reason to thank God. I would have been dead by now if not for God’s grace. I will continue to serve Him”, a man named Joseph said on his bed.

This is a great piece of history, which is dear to our hearts as people and very much appreciated.

Many thanks to the people who worked hard in the past and those who are still making efforts to keep the institution.

The labour is obviouly worth it. We are proud of you all.

A lot still to be done, with the motivation of the champions of this course, others will follow as well to maintain the institution

May God continue to keep the edifice for development of future generations to the glory of God and the benefits of our fatherland.
