Barely two weeks after he won an election into the Ondo State Assembly, a member elect representing Akure North constituency, Mr Akindele Alasoadura, is dead.
Alasoadura, the younger brother of the State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Chief Tayo Alasoadura, died in the early hours of Sunday after an undisclosed ailment.
The legislator-elect reportedly suffered severe pains in his left leg shortly after he won the party primaries, a development which prevented him from intensive campaign before the Assembly polls.
He was a supervisory councillor for health in the Akure North Local Government until his election as a legislator representing the local government in the state House of Assembly.
Chief Alasoadura who had thought his younger brother was merely entertaining fears of what the outcome of the polls would be at the initial stage of his complaints over the strange ailment, was said to have got worried when his brother's condition deteriorated.
The commissioner was alleged to have engaged the services of doctors whose intervention was said to have relieved the deceased for some days before his condition became critical just before the general election.
He was said to have managed to come out few days before the election to campaign within his home town-Iju and its environs and later returned home.
It was gathered that his condition got worse the following day he was declared winner in the House of Assembly election.
Chief Alasoadura who was away on assignment in Lagos as at the time his brother died hurriedly returned home when he heard the news.
