Presidency: Kalu robbed of victory - Group

An Igbo pressure group, the Igbo Security Council (ISC), says that Katsina State governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the April 21 presidential election, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, did not win the election.

An Igbo pressure group, the Igbo Security Council (ISC), says that Katsina State governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the April 21 presidential election, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, did not win the election.

According to the group, Abia State governor and Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) candidate, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, was robbed of victory through massive rigging of the election.
It therefore advised President Olusegun Obasanjo not to attempt handing over to Yar'Adua on May 29.

Speaking to Daily Sun, President General of the group, Mr. Ndubuisi Igwekani, warned that President Obasanjo would be inviting evil days in the country if he failed to heed the advice not to hand over to Yar'Adua.

He expressed worry that elections expected to start at about 10 am never commenced in the South East until about 7pm and with other areas not even getting electoral materials.
Ndubuisi, who is also the national coordinator of the Igbo Freedom Movement (IFM), disclosed that the group had mobilized Igbo youths numbering about five million for mass action.

The group said that Gov Kalu was robbed of victory by the government through its agents and non-arrival of electoral materials to areas where the PPA has strong appeal.
He said that the PDP had pre-determined the results of the elections few months to the polls.
