Fiery senior pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare on Sunday made a shocking prediction on next month's general elections. 'I don't see any election till October 1," he declared.
Bakare told the congregation at the Sunday worship service that the much anticipated polls might not hold next month, warning that 'the lame" would subsequently mount the saddle of leadership
In his message entitled, 'Creating and developing powerful impact in the local church," Bakare said of the elections: 'I don't see any yet, and if there is any, I don't see any election till October 1, and after that, it is the lame that will take the prey."
According to the pastor, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Umar Musa Yar'Adua came into the race after General Ibrahim Babangida had been frustrated out.
'Unfortunately, he is not fit. He will eventually step down for another man and we will have a limping president from October 1," he said.
He said now that INEC has barred the Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the latter will begin to in turn reveal detailed secrets of Obasanjo's dealings in government.
He recalled. ' I said it in 1999, that Obasanjo is not the messiah. Now it's eight years and I have been proved right. For eight years we have not seen any good thing come out of this administration."
Bakare had on March 7, 1999, at the height of the political transition programme made a controversial prediction that the then newly elected General Obasanjo might not be sworn in on May 29 of that year.
Bakare had said: "In a vision, I eavesdropped on the conversation going on in the heavens. I saw Jesus on the throne, called the seat of the Governor, and the subject they were discussing was Nigeria.
'This was what came out of the lips of the Lord: ‘Rejoice not oh land, or your joy will be temporary. For I am bringing the nation - Nigeria, the rulers, the priests and the prophets there to my threshing floor. I will judge Saul and his comrades, and after I have finished my purging, then I will restore to you permanent joy. Obasanjo is not your messiah. He is King Agag and the prophetic axe will fall upon his head before May 29.'
'And I asked. ‘Lord. How are you going to judge Saul and what has he done?'
God said, ‘I sent him on an assignment to overtake, to recover, to demolish but he didn't. He spared the fat calves, he spared the big sheep and he brought Agag back to Jerusalem. I will judge Saul and his comrades and after I have finished my purging, then your joy will be permanent.'"
Pastor Bakare warned that if General Obasanjo was eventually sworn in, either by omission or commission, three things would characterize his regime: The family situation in Nigeria will collapse. Just like in the days of Ahab, there will be economic crimes perpetrated more than ever before, and 'the occult movement will gain momentum that it will almost become impossible to stop it."
