A 45-year-old man in Osun State who was standing trial for allegedly stealing 20 goats last October, has been found dead in his car.
Police, however, said Isiaka Abiola's mysterious death was as a result of stray bullets.
The victim's Nissan car marked BY 825 KJA was said to have crashed into the fence of St James Primary School, Ayetoro, Osogbo, after he was allegedly hit by the stray bullets.
Daily Sun gathered that his last appearance in court was January 25, and was expected to appear again on March 13, before the unfortunate incident.
The Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of Dugbe police station, Mr. Abba Ali, disclosed that the suspect was arrested along Ilorin/Osogbo and 20 goats recovered from him, adding: 'We immediately, charged him to court."
He said during investigations, they discovered that there was a woman based in Lagos who was sponsoring the theft of goats.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Suleiman Fakai, disclosed that Abiola's body was discovered in the Ayetoro area of Osogbo in the early hours of March 3.
He said charms, Indian hemp, two goats, among others, were also found inside the crashed car.
