‘‘Myself and my party will follow you to the end and i wish to be alive to see to the end and we will meet the day after.

I will sacrifice to support you if it will bring peace to the country. I am impressed by your courage to uphold the constitution and challenge those who foolishly play God," he said while receiving the Vice President and his entourage at his Igboeze street residence at Independence Layout, Enugu.

Speaking to newsmen after his meeting with Atiku and his entourage, Chief Ojukwu affirmed his support for Atiku.
He said: 'We have really, indeed talked, talked, and talked ( with Atiku Abubakar). We have talked sufficiently for both of us to find out, and agree that the one thing to avoid in Nigeria is violence. We decided that the key to any leadership in this country, must be a leadership based on the search for peace.

Commenting on his discussion with Atiku, the Ikemba Nnewi further said: ‘‘Both of us have agreed after our conversations, that that is a worthwhile idea to pursue. And I assured my guest that in the search for peace, I am ready to co-operate with him totally, so that we can install peace in Nigeria.

‘‘I have also assured him, that there are many things worrying so many different people, but one thing we must not do, he and I, any time, is to play god. We are human beings, and so we will continue consulting each other throughout, until we get what we want, which is peace in Nigeria today and tomorrow. I think with him we can get it!

‘‘ I am satisfied with the conversation so far. I will talk with my people. I will talk with my party. And I am pretty certain I will employ everything I have, in getting them to follow me in this crusade, which is to support my friend, and to ensure that what we get at the end is peace today in Nigeria and tomorrow."
