Chief Coach of the National Under-23 team, Samson Siasia, was all smiles yesterday (Wednesday) morning, following the arrival of five foreign- based players to the team's camp in Abuja for the All Africa Games cracker against Ghana on Saturday.
Siasia has been so worried over the unavailability of some of the key players he invited for the match that he leapt for joy when Sani Kaita, Felix Ogbuke, Bernard Okoronwata, Solomon Abwo and Jeremiah Ani stormed the team's camp in Abuja
The players joined in the evening training yesterday (Wednesday) and gave hopes of the Nigerian team triumphing over their Ghanaian counterparts. Siasia would go on to assure that he has a team that can get a good result over Ghana and qualify for the next round of the All Africa games qualifiers.
" We need to continue to win and I don't see this team that I have assembled losing to Ghana. With Nigerians praying for us and with the determination of the players to succeed, I think we are on course. Ghana will be tough but we shall conquer them" Siasia stated.
Meanwhile, the Ghanaian team of 34 man squad will arrive Abuja today (Thursday) aboard Virgin Nigeria airline direct from Accra for the match on Saturday at the lush green Abuja Stadium.
The referees for the match led by Diouf Ousmane from Senegal will also arrive on today (Thursday) along with the match commissioner.
