Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) presidential candidate and Governor of Kastina State, Alhaji Umar Yar'Adua has dismissed accusations that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) list on indicted politicians was doctored by the government. According to him, those making such allegations are only playing to the gallery.

According to him, those making such allegations are only playing to the gallery.
Yar'adua who spoke to journalists in Owerri on Sunday said the commission was autonomous and derived no power from the government, pointing out that names of those on the EFCC list cut across party line.
He advised Nigerians to stop pursuing shadows and rather look at the evidence before them. "The names of people indicted by the commission include those from all political parties including PDP. Always look at the evidence before you. There is an evidence before your eyes."
On the current security situation in the country, the PDP presidential standard bearer described it as relatively good and stable, pointing out that it was humanly impossible that any environment could be 100 percent secured.
He said, "What you can do is to provide security to a such a degree that is acceptable and normal human activities are able to take place unhindered. Normal human activities are taking place in Nigeria unhindered except some few problems at the Niger Delta region."
The Kastina State governor observed that the unstable price of petroleum products was as a result of deregulation of the oil sector and predicted that the current prices would last for a long period.
According to him, the variation on prices of petroleum products was as a result of deregulation of the sector which would depend largely on the forces of demand and supply.
