What most women pray for is to have a child they could call their own. But that was not the wish of a woman in Lagos, who has been held for killing her beautiful baby girl. Blessing Amiaka, at the Alapere area of Lagos, had reportedly put the baby's body in a polythene bag and flung it out of her window.

Although she claimed the baby died naturally before she flung the body out, 20-year-old Blessing lamented that no man was ready to accept the child.
She told Daily Sun: 'I felt like going to the toilet on that day. Immediately I entered the toilet, my stomach was moving and the baby came out. I never knew I was about to give birth. The baby came out dead, so I put it in a nylon bag and threw it out of the window."
She further revealed that the woman she was staying with never knew that she was pregnant.
'I was eight months pregnant but my madam never knew. I work as a sales girl with her, I concealed it very well. It was when her daughter saw blood in the toilet that she raised alarm, which made neighbours to notice me", she said.
After searching every nook and cranny of the compound, neighbours were shocked to see a beautiful baby girl in the premises. Then Blessing dropped the bombshell: she was the owner of the baby.
One of the neighbours who pleaded anonymity, however, said that some of them knew she was pregnant.
She said: 'We knew she was pregnant but I'm shocked she threw her beautiful baby away. Even when she found the baby was dead, why didn't she show it to her friends in the compound? Throwing it away meant she had a sinister motive."
Blessing, who had one daughter before the new baby, is now being quizzed by the police after her neighbours made a report.
