The Action Congress governorship candidate in Ogun State, Otunba Dipo Dina yesterday denied the rumour that he was being sponsored by Lagos State Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Action Congress governorship candidate in Ogun State, Otunba Dipo Dina yesterday denied the rumour that he was being sponsored by Lagos State Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Fielding questions from newsmen during a press conference to kick-start his campaign which begins today, Dipa said nobody could use him to achieve an ulterior motive, adding that he was a mature man to know what he wants.
His words: " I am saying here that, I am an independent person, Tinubu is not sponsoring me, it is the jittery people in government that are saying that, but, I respect Tinubu as my party leader."
According to him: "I have considered deeply the clarion call of our people for a meaningful change in the polity and the need to meet the challenges of good governance particularly because of the current unprecedented maladminsitration in the state".
"The present adminstration has failed all of us, it has dashed our hope, we have been pummeled, we need at the helm of affairs, people who will be humane, honest, sym pathetic and accountable.
'There is not much to show for the monumental increase in the state's internally generated revenue, as well as share of the federation allocation proceeds.
"We are living witnesses to outright display of arrogance and wasteful spending of the PDP controlled government of Ogun State in order to remain in office beyond 2007, instead of devoting energy and use of state's resources to govern and enhance the well being of the people."
